Frequently asked questions
Do I need an electrician?
No. ULTRABEAM runs off a standard power point, so there is no hardwiring needed. The assembly is simple DIY: click the tubes into the connectors, lift the layout up and mount it. For permanent wiring to a switch, we recommend a licensed electrician.
How does the modular system work?
ULTRABEAM uses two core parts: LED tubes and angled connectors. Tubes click into connectors to form a continuous run. You assemble the layout on the floor first, test it, then mount it to the ceiling.
What size do I need?
Whatever fits your ceiling. Ready-made kits run from a compact panel up to a full double-garage layout, and the designer will size any shape to your exact dimensions and work around the garage door rail.
Can I add to it later?
Yes. Every tube, connector and cord is stocked on its own, so you can extend the layout across a bigger ceiling, add a border, or change the shape whenever you like.
How bright is it?
Every kit lists its exact wattage and lumen output on its product page. All of them run 6500K daylight white at CRI 90+, so colours read true. The multi-tube layout spreads light from several directions at once, which is what removes the hard shadows.
Is it certified for Australian use?
Yes. ULTRABEAM is RCM marked and EMC tested against AS/NZS standards, and ships with an earthed 3-pin AU plug.
How long does it take to install?
An hour or two, with a helper for the ceiling lift. You need a drill, a screwdriver and a ladder. Assemble it flat on the floor, test it, then mount it and plug it in.
What ceilings can it mount to?
Flush to the ceiling, or dropped on the included suspension cables for higher ceilings. It works on plasterboard, concrete, timber and steel.
