Before you order

Light spread across the whole ceiling, in daylight white. A hexagon kit spreads its tubes over the car, the walls and the corners. No bay sits in shadow. At 6500K and CRI 85, paint shows as it really is.

Fit one kit across both bays, up to 25 hexagons. Or fit a 5-Grid B over each bay. With a door motor in the middle, fit two 11-Grid C kits, one each side. Read the double garage guide.

Battens are simple and bright. A few sources leave a hard shadow under each one. A hexagon kit spreads 15 to 96 tubes over the ceiling. Light reaches the car from every side.

The light is spread over the whole kit, so there is no one bright point to look into. For less light, pick a smaller kit. The kits run at full output and do not dim.

Not to plug these in. Each kit runs on a 1.5 m cord from a standard power point. A lit border has its own cord, so it takes a second socket. For a wall switch, use a licensed electrician.

About 60% less power than the fluoros it replaces, on LEDs rated to 50,000 hours.

Yes. Every kit is 6500K daylight at CRI 85, so paint shows as it really is.

Sizing and install guide

Size your garage lighting by the room

Single, double or bigger: what fits, how bright to go and how it goes up. Tap a question to open it.

For parking and storage, 100 to 200 lux will do. For working on the car, aim for 240 to 400. A 3 x 6 m garage under a 14-Grid C gets about 2,180 lumens a square metre.

A 3 x 6 m garage takes one kit run lengthways, from 2.9 to 6.6 m. Pick one that clears the door track and the opener rail. A 9-Grid C sits behind a door motor.

Pick from the 16 bigger sizes, up to 9.8 m long. Or put two kits side by side, each on its own power point.

Measure the clear ceiling between the walls, the door tracks and the opener rail. Sizes read length by width: a 4.5 x 3.8 m kit is 4.5 m long. Check a power point sits within reach of the 1.5 m cord.

Yes. Light falls off with distance. From a 3.0 m ceiling, about a third less reaches the floor than from 2.4 m. Go a size up, or hang the kit on its suspension cables.

  1. Lay the kit out on the garage floor.
  2. Press each tube into its connector until it clicks.
  3. Plug it in and check every tube lights.
  4. Lift it with a helper and screw through the connectors into the ceiling.
  5. Run the cord to the power point with cable clips.

You need a drill, a ladder and a tape measure.

A border frames the hexagons in a line of light, in Cool Daylight, Blue or Red. It has its own cord, so it needs a second power point.
