Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between ULTRATUFF and ULTRATONE?
ULTRATUFF has a diamond-tread surface that provides reliable grip underfoot and under tyres — ideal for workshops and high-traffic garages. ULTRATONE has a smooth, flat surface with no pattern — the simplest, cleanest design for showrooms and minimal aesthetics. Both are solid tiles that snap together the same way.
How do I clean solid tiles?
Sweep with a broom weekly. Mop with warm water and mild detergent monthly. Spot-clean chemical spills immediately to prevent staining. That’s the entire routine — no sub-floor maintenance, no lifting tiles, no hidden debris to deal with.
Can I use solid tiles in a garage that gets wet?
Occasional splashes and spills are no problem — just mop them up. If your garage regularly gets wet from rain blowing in or heavy condensation, you can use vented tiles near the opening for drainage and solid tiles in the rest of the garage. All five Sleek Space ranges snap together, so mixing is easy.
Are solid tiles good for workshops?
Absolutely — this is their strongest use case. ULTRATUFF’s diamond tread provides grip, and the closed-top surface means screws, bolts, and small parts stay visible on the floor. Easy to spot and pick up.
Can I mix solid and vented tiles in the same garage?
Yes — all five Sleek Space tile ranges use the same snap-lock system. A popular layout is vented tiles near the door for drainage and solid tiles in the workshop area for easy sweeping. The transition between zones is seamless.
Are solid tiles slippery when wet?
ULTRATUFF’s diamond-tread pattern provides reliable grip even when wet — that’s one reason it’s popular in workshops. ULTRATONE’s smooth surface has subtle texture for traction. Both handle occasional splashes and spills without issue.
Can I install this myself?
Yes — the tiles click together by hand. Most customers finish a double garage in 4–6 hours using a tape measure and jigsaw for edge trims.
How much does a standard double garage cost?
A standard 6×6m double garage typically costs around $1,800. Our floor kits include everything you need at a bundled price — just choose your tile type and colours.
What if a tile gets damaged?
Start from the nearest wall and disconnect the row leading to the damaged tile. Lift each tile from the edge inwards, replace the damaged one, then relay the row back. Individual tiles are available as spares.
Do you ship to my area?
We ship free Australia-wide. Orders ship from Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane — whichever is closest to you.
Can I use a trolley jack on solid tiles?
Yes. All Sleek Space tiles carry a 20 t/m² load rating and are designed for trolley jacks, axle stands, and rolling tool cabinets. ULTRATUFF’s diamond tread is especially popular with home mechanics for the added grip.
What happens if I spill oil on solid tiles?
Wipe it up with a cloth or paper towel. The polypropylene surface doesn’t absorb oil the way concrete or epoxy does. For dried-on spills, warm water with mild detergent does the job. The tiles are chemically resistant and won’t stain permanently.
Will tyres damage the tiles or cause them to shift?
No. The tiles handle full-lock turns, mud tyres, and daily driving in and out. The snap-lock system holds each tile firmly to its neighbours — they won’t shift, bulge, or separate under normal vehicle use. We recommend an entry strip glued to the concrete at the garage opening for extra security.
