What Are Interlocking Tiles?

Interlocking garage tiles are modular squares that click together with no glue and no fixing. They sit straight on your existing concrete and go down in hours.

  • Click-lock system: tiles snap together with interlocking lugs on each edge
  • No permanent fixing: lays straight onto clean, dry concrete
  • Fully removable: take them with you if you move house
  • Professional finish: turns a bare slab into a showroom-quality floor

Pro tip

Think of them as puzzle pieces for your garage floor. Each tile clicks into the next to form a solid, flat surface that looks like a professional job.

Types of Tile Profiles

All our tiles use the same interlocking system. What changes is the surface: vented profiles that drain, or solid profiles for a seamless look.

  • Vented tiles (ULTRAGRID, ULTRACORE, ULTRAFLUX): open ribs and edge channels let air, water and debris drain through
  • Solid tiles (ULTRATUFF, ULTRATONE): a sealed surface that is easy to sweep and mop
  • Every tile is rated to 20t/m²: built for cars, toolboxes and heavy workshop gear

Pro tip

Pick vented (ULTRAGRID, ULTRACORE, ULTRAFLUX) where you want air and water to move under the floor. Pick solid (ULTRATUFF, ULTRATONE) for a sealed, easy-clean finish in a dry space.

Key Terms Explained

A quick glossary of the terms you'll see across our guides and product pages.

  • Load rating (20t/m²): how much weight each square metre takes. Ours handle cars, SUVs and workshop gear.
  • Expansion gap: a small gap around the room edge so tiles can move with temperature changes
  • Ramp trims: tapered edge pieces for a smooth step from tile down to the garage entrance
  • Interlocking lugs: the tabs and slots on each tile edge that click together

Tiles vs Other Garage Floors

How interlocking tiles stack up against the usual garage flooring options.

  • Epoxy coating: permanent, needs a pro to apply and can peel or yellow over time. Tiles are removable and DIY.
  • Garage paint: the cheapest option, but it chips easily under tyres and workshop use
  • Rubber mats: cheap, but they shift under load, trap moisture underneath and stain from tyres
  • Bare concrete: works, but it stains for good, throws dust and feels cold underfoot

Pro tip

Tiles are the only garage floor that is fully DIY, fully removable and backed by a 15-year warranty.

Common Questions

No. A rubber mallet, tape measure and a jigsaw for edge cuts are all you need. Most garages are done in 4-6 hours with no specialist skills.

Installation guide

Yes. All our tiles are UV-stabilised for direct sun. For anywhere that gets rained on or stays wet, go with a vented range like ULTRAGRID or ULTRACORE, the open profile lets water drain straight through. Solid tiles suit covered, dry spaces.

Every Sleek Space tile comes with a 15-year warranty, and with normal use they last well beyond it.
