Union Pacific Model Railroad Club: the members laid their own ULTRAGRID® floor

The Union Pacific Model Railroad Club is a model railroad club in Brisbane. Its club room holds a large layout of towns, mountains, bridges and tunnels. Visitors come in on open days. The members put down a new floor where visitors gather. It is ULTRAGRID® in Silver Grey, with a Speed Yellow walkway.

A club room floor the members laid themselves

The club did the work. They tiled the main areas, where people walk and gather on open days.

"The members did the laying and it proved very easy and quite quick."
John Pfeffer, for the club, in a Google review

The tiles click together by hand. Nothing is fixed down. Where the room has posts and walls that are not square, the members cut tiles to fit.

"We had to cut around posts and irregular walls but this proved quite easy with a jigsaw and a little knowhow."
John Pfeffer, in the same review

A yellow walkway through a grey floor

Silver Grey covers the room. Speed Yellow marks a path down the aisle and runs as a border round the long tables.

The yellow is the same tile as the grey, in another colour. Every tile in the ULTRA Series interlocks with every other. A walkway, a border or a stripe comes down to which colour goes where. Silver Grey ULTRAEDGE™ ramps were ordered for the edges.

"We are absolutely delighted with the result"
John Pfeffer, in the same review
