ULTRAEDGE Ramps — Positioning Guide
Ramps create a smooth transition from your tiles to the floor. Each ramp clips onto one tile edge — no tools, no adhesive. This page explains the three ramp types (male, female, corner) and where they go.
Two Clip Types
Ramps come in two styles. The difference is which side connects to your tiles. Use loop-clip at the front entrance — it makes laying the rest of your floor easier.
- Straight-tab ramps have pegs that slide into a tile’s loops
- Loop-clip ramps have loops that receive a tile’s pegs
- Each ramp is 400 mm long — the same as one tile — and clips fully onto one tile edge
Pro tip
Easy to tell apart: straight pegs sticking out = straight-tab. U-shaped loops = loop-clip.
How Many Do You Need?
One ramp per tile edge. Count the tiles along each exposed side and that’s your ramp count. Our design tools work this out automatically.
- Each ramp clips onto one tile edge, so count the tiles along each exposed side
- Two sides of your floor need loop-clip ramps, the other two need straight-tab — matching the tile’s edge type
- Don’t forget to order corner pieces where two ramp rows meet
Pro tip
The design studio and ramp calculator both handle this automatically when you enter your garage dimensions.
Walled Garages
Walls on three sides? Ramps only go along the entrance. Snap them on and push the row against the garage door.
- Snap ramps onto the front row of tiles along the full entrance width
- Push the row snug against the garage door so ramps sit flush with the driveway
- Ramps are only 18 mm high — they sit against the closed door, so clearance isn’t a concern
Pro tip
You only need ramps where tiles meet the driveway — not along walls.
Freestanding Floors
No walls? Exhibition floors, outdoor pads and island setups need ramps on every exposed edge, plus corner pieces.
- Ramps go on all exposed edges around the full perimeter
- Two sides need loop-clip ramps, the other two need straight-tab — match the ramp to each tile edge
- Order corner pieces to finish each corner where two ramp rows meet
Pro tip
Count the tiles along each side for the ramp total. Order corner pieces separately for each corner.

Ramp calculatorYes. Ramps click onto any exposed tile edge, so you can add them at any time. Just make sure you choose the correct clip type to match which side of the tile is exposed.
Yes. ULTRAEDGE ramps connect to all ULTRA Series tiles — ULTRAGRID, ULTRATUFF, ULTRACORE, ULTRAFLUX and ULTRATONE. The interlocking system is universal across all ranges.
